Purpose

The goal of this assignment is to help you think about how your own experiences and current knowledge inform what you know about the role religion plays in American politics.

Task

Write a 2-page reflection (double-spaced, 12-point font, 1-inch margins) on your current view of the role religion plays in American politics.

First, in one paragraph, answer the following question: would you say churches and religious organizations have a positive or negative effect on the way things are going in the country these days? Explain your answer.

Then, discuss how your own lived experiences and knowledge inform that view.
